Mid Century attractive Hódmezövásárhely Majolikagyár (HM) vase with a minimalist line was made in Hungary in the 60s.

HMV was a traditional Hungarian pottery producing folk art style wares until the mid 1950s, when an new art director Gyula Kajári and two new artists Gyula Végvári and János Fekete introduced experimental glazes and modern forms and decors, leading to international recognition.

This piece beautifully curved, with a Fat Lava and leaves decor in yellow, brown and beige tones dripping texture, the inside has a contrasting blue glaze.

Measures: H20 cm x Ø9 cm approx .

Marked on bottom with HM.

In good vintage condition, it has a small fault (see last picture).
