Original Philips vintage Infraphil lamp – Infrared heat lamp designed by Charlotte Perriand and made in the 1960’s in the Netherlands.

Charlotte Perriand was a French architect and designer. Her work aimed to create functional living spaces in the belief that better design helps in creating a better society.  Royal Philips Electronics registered the brand name Infraphil in September 1945. Infraphil is a clipping from Infrared and Phillips.  From 1946 on Philips released several dozens of infrared light bulbs for soothing warming appliances worldwide.

The lamp is made from cast aluminium and is fixed with a clamping ring that fits in a groove in the front of the armature. The trademark Philips is integrated in the grip. Light cream and red colour, this is a piece of art with a unique retro amazing design!

This is a beautiful lamp that would grace any desk or table. But it has also a medical purpose. It has infra red warm light that can be used to treat muscular pain, colds, bruises and so on.
